This would be my preference too. It's very clear that most of us are just caught in the crossfire (which is perhaps fortunate for Jeroen, because the last time I was the victim of a mailbombing it took all of ten seconds to filter the mails to the trashcan and a further five minutes to get the offending mail account closed under the terms and conditions of its provision, which stopped the wasting of my bandwidth). I think we've all been sufficiently exposed to this tactic that we can easily imagine such a reply to everything that Erik posts between now and either the Singularity or the retraction or supporting of his earlier comments.
