I think we've gone over this ground before, but... I don't hate any of you. I promise. I just usually don't respond to a thread unless I feel like I have something to contribute to it (even if the contribution is only a wise-crack ;-). It has been a while since I read The Postman and even longer since I saw the movie, and I don't really feel very strongly about either of them. I thought the book was ok, but Brin has written better. I thought the movie was ok, but Constner has been involved in better. That just seemed like a wishy-washy reply that didn't really add much if anything to the discussion, so I didn't post it. I think that kind of reasoning might go for others on the list as well. Please don't think I hate you if I don't reply to a message you post. Sometimes I just have no comment. (And yes, I did see the smileys and the <g> marks, but I wanted to bring this up just for the record). Also, this *is* summer (at least in the Northern hemisphere). A lot of people spend a lot less time on-line during the summer due to vacations and other fun-in-the-sun activities. I'm not sure that list stats will back me up for every past summer, but it seems to me that July and/or August are typically slower months for most of the lists I'm on.
