Canadian research indicates that big American producers are dumping television exports -exporting TV programmes at well below cost, which averages US$1.2 million per hour. (The Caribbean island of Aruba pays US$80-$100!) Even if the cost of programming is not the correct reference, compare it to the domestic price: The US TV networks pay an average of US$800,000 per hour. The highest export price is about one eighth of this, and out-of-season shows get much cheaper again.
