Erik, please bear with me because I'm trying to understand your POV here. My
perspective on this issue is substantially different than yours, and I want to
understand where you're coming from. To that end, some questions :)

Why should offlist conversations about the list be directed back here?

If, say, Julia and I had an offlist discussion about what we want for the future
Brin-L v2, should that be directed on-list, and would you be upset that it isn't?

Is it because there's a group of N people discussing what they want to see in the
future? In otherwords, is it a critical mass issue?

Is it that the list (and tech behind it) might someday become Brin-L v2, and therefor
there is some metaphysical connection? (I'm seriously asking)

Is it simply that you weren't invited, and feel slighted? (Please - I'm not trying to
offend, just offer a possibility for consideration.)
