That is one of the things I have been thinking about. Rather then sending a
Digest every 60K, would it be possible to simply send one Digest per day, as
we had on Cornell?

A weekly Digest might not be such a great idea. Whenever Brin-L goes into
high traffic mode (with 100+ posts per day), the weekly Digest would be
huge.

Second issue: depending on the e-mail client used, I see the following in
every message (visible in Eudora, hidden in Outlook):

> List-Id: Discussions of the writings of science fiction/futurist authors
> David Brin and Gregory Benford. <brin-l.mccmedia.com>
> List-Post: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
> List-Subscribe: <http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l>,
> <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=subscribe>
> List-Unsubscribe: <http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l>,
> <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe>
> List-Archive: <http://www.mccmedia.com/pipermail/brin-l>
> List-Help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=help>

To save download time, band width and disk space, would it be possible to
set your server to NOT include it?

Third issue:

The same goes for .sig at the bottom of every message:

One of the reasons why Brin-L was not moved to Yahoo was because something
like that would be added to every message.
