Not entirely. Even if I decide to leave one week before my contract expires,
I will still have to pay them back everything. I prefer the other common
deal with regard to employer-paid training: your potential debt gradually
decreases during the agreed period. In my case, the contract is for two
years so the debt should decrease by 1/24th every month.

The reasoning behind this type of deal is that both you and your employer
benefit from you having had that training. Under my current contract, if I
would leave a week early my employer would have benefitted from that
training while it would not have cost him anything. That hardly seems fair.
