Or less cynically, a harder country to invade. We spanked Saddam
fairly easily a decade ago, though granted, it could have been a
major bloodbath if we'd pushed into Baghdad back then. On the
other hand, the Korean War didn't turn out too well, thanks to
lousy climate, a huge army, and backing from China. There are
also the nukes they may already have, as John pointed out a
little while ago.
