And what did religion have to do with honour? Men who refused to become kamikazes would disgrace their families, and so many died to protect their family's honour, not their own. This could be completely wrong, but I'm still not convinced that religion had anything to do with it. Plus I've read somewhere that the Japanese didn't refer to those pilots as the Divine Wind but by some other term.
