<grin>  I have no idea.  But topical preparations of
cocaine are used in nasal surgery or nose bleeds to
stop the bleeding (imagine the ignominy of bleeding to
death from a punched nose!).

Heck, you already pointed out the heart benfits of low
doses of alcohol.  I 'saved' one friend's daughter
from a trip to the ER (for excruciating cramps) by
ordering a shot of whiskey (not that I advocate that
on a regular basis, but it *is* a muscle relaxant).
