Yes, it's stupid both on the part of Packard Bell (given the fact that "recovery paritions" are both unhelpful and legally VERY dubious (recovery CD's are just as annoying but on better legal grounds...), on the part of PC World for selling it and on the part of the buyer for not consulting a techie friend on what TO buy. *mutters* The **** things give me lots of tech work, mind you.
