As long as you have the full application CD's, then all you need is data backup, which for most people CAN be stored on CD-RW. Oh, and drivers, etc, which can be updated say once every 2 months. I don't feel that spending an hour every other month is too much for that. A LOT easier than playing arround with "full system restore" apps which often fail to work ANYWAY.
