You could say I suspect some of the reason for the war against Irak is, besides its strategic position in the middle east, the enormous amount of oil the country has. The fact that only humanitarian reasons are fronted for undertaking such very extreme measures (wich must have enormous costs attached to it) does strike me as very odd or to be more specific I feel that it is not all of the truth.

This, of course, why most members of the Arab League, including their Sec General have not expressed support towards the US because they don't like the idea of a US-led-Irak. Their attitude is more like "We don't like Saddam, but we don't particulary embrace American presence in an oil-producing country".
