No birthday, here, but I just bought a digital camera also (to use for our baby's
imminent arrival)... anyway, what'd ya get?

4 years after release, Half Life still stands tall amongst the single-player
first-person shooters. I recently bought Unreal 2, and it was a massive
disappointment.

I you venture into multiplayer with half life, I recommend the Team Fortress
Classic (TFC) mod. It's not realism-based liked Counterstrike is, but it's
a blast to play. I was in a "clan" that played competitvely for a while (the
"Warlords of Beer", lol), and it was a load of fun. I definitely prefer the
team-based games over the deathmatch stuff for online play.

I think cable companies everywhere do this crap intentionally, to penalize the
customers that (they think) don't pay on time. I've heard of a cable services here
that screwed up people's billing, deactivated them, and then charged a reactivation
fee for them to get it turned back on.

Ouch! Why is it so much slower? ADSL near me is very competitive with cable
internet speeds, and often considered superior. Are you too distant from a central
office?
