That's not just *an* example, it is *the* verse that many in the church rely
on to support anti-gay beliefs. But it is in the context of idolatry and it
certainly can be read as a prohibition of orgies in the temple in which
heterosexuals perform homosexual acts, which were Greek and Roman practices
that Paul may well have been condemning. If nothing else, it clearly is
focused on idolatry, not sexuality.



So could they argue that as long as they promise they're not worshiping the god Priapus, homosexual acts are ok?
