That's not just *an* example, it is *the* verse that many in the church rely on to support anti-gay beliefs. But it is in the context of idolatry and it certainly can be read as a prohibition of orgies in the temple in which heterosexuals perform homosexual acts, which were Greek and Roman practices that Paul may well have been condemning.
