The article provides no new information. Its assertions have been made before and lack any explaination as to why autism is the most common of all pervasive developmental disorder why the genetic component is so ellusive, etc..
For someone like me, who is relatively unfamiliar with autism, the article was helpful. (Well, except where (as you pointed out,) it was misleading or insulting to the autistic.)
