Ah.... I think that I gather what you are saying... you are envisioning a Shiite Theocracy controlling Iraq (as opposed to an *Islamic Republic* ala Turkey, Bangladesh, or Indonesia) and making an alliance with Iran? Certainly, anything is possible - but given that in terms of foreign policy chips, prevention of a regional hegemon in the Middle East is about as high as they come, I think that it would be highly unlikely. At any rate, even if Iran were to unify with Iraq, we're still only talking around 100 million people - hardly the foundations of a "superpower."
