I have to recommend A Wizard of Earthsea for sure. A great young adult book, maybe a little young for her, but not much. Eddings' Belgariad would be good, and Brooks' The Sword of Shannara (though I'd steer clear of the multidinous sequels) would be a good choice. I will disagree with the recommendation of George RR Martin unless your daughter's maturity level is well beyond the average 14-year old. It's more a political intrigue thriller than a classic fantasy novel, and it's got a fair amount of adult situations as well. I'll second the recommendation of Watership Down, too. It was one of my all-time favorite books as a kid.
