Besides the points Robert made in a later post, did you factor in 1) 
maintenance costs (electrics are much cheaper now that batteries last 
the life of the car) and 2) the costs of "peacekeeping" to keep the oil

supply lines open?

not to sound conspiratorial, but those are two reason why not to
produce electric cars from the point of view of planned obsolesence and
capital investment in internal combustion engines.  
also, there is more profit to be made from non renewable sources of
energy where the price per barrel is based on supply and demand.
those who have actually seen the film have to wonder why these cars
were recalled and destroyed, rather than allowing the lessee to
purchase their prototypes...
