It's true that Sci-Fi fans are not randomly sampled from the general population. But, I have two distributions that I was considering when I made my statement: 1) I considered the historic Brin-L distribution. We had two people who took the conservative side of the issue more often than not on this list. Both are effectively gone. This list has characteristics, and conservative is not among them. > I > sometimes take reactionary conservative, and libertarian positions, and > sometimes progressive, or radical marxist positions. But, as you noted elsewhere, your general position is against the broad middle of the viewpoint of the US. That sort of viewpoint is not unwelcome here. I think it is safe to say that folks who see a lot of reasonableness in mainstream Republican ideas do not post much here. One of the folks who has, in the past, has characterized me as the most conservative person on Brin-L. > how did you get to be an obama delegate? I showed up to the precinct caucus and was elected a delegate to the county convention. _That was a nightmare._ It took almost 8 hours to get the delegates and the alternates who were eligible to be delegates seated. It took only 10 minutes, once this happened, for our precinct to go ahead and elected one Obama delegate and one Clinton alternate...which was the inevitable outcome of our precinct vote. I wish I could find a good villain to blame for the time it took, but it was mere incompetence. In Minn, we got that done in 15 minutes....without computers in 1972. The Texan list members might jump all over me, as did the people at the convention, but as I pointed out, that's a natural result of the difference in practicality between Texans and Minnesotians.
