Seriously, though, I think that many members of Congress have one or more advisers on science and technology. The idea of organizing them into this shadow Congress is intriguing, but I don't quite see how it would work. For one thing, politicians will tend to choose science advisers who tell them what they want to hear, *especially* if the advisers are organized into a body that has any sort of transparency.
