If you didn't want the Galahs there Roger you should just say so! Your clandestine insults don't fool me pal. I can smell your fear from here.
We'll be top ten this time next year anyway so it won't matter. Or we'll just sneak in through the back door as usual. We're happy to bribe. Can see the point in making the Nationals top 16 but I'm glad we got to take part. It was an excellent tournament and we took a lot from it. Perhaps the idea of making it a two tiered tournament with top 16 and bottom 16 holds some value. Seeing as you only got 22 teams though, it seems that the demand isn't there. Great tournament, great venue, great organisation and I even got a massage for my weary body for a fiver. Bargain. Bit disappointed that there wasn't some sort of specialist eye clinic on site given my injury but you live and learn. Next time I'll use my hands to catch the disc. Thanks for the hard work. Very much appreciated by the Galahs (Spirit and Spoon Winners 2006 TM). Fear us. Unfortunately we always seem to get greedy and try and get as many teams in as possible, which waters down the pleasure at having won your place as well as throwing up all these scheduling issues. Great tournament Skunks. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Matthew D. DiFranco Sent: 27 June 2006 12:33 To: [email protected] Subject: [BD] Thoughts on Mixed Nationals Some quick points about Mixed Nationals: Rule 1.B.1 from the UKUA Mixed Tour Rules states, "The format for Mixed Nationals will give an equal chance to every team entering the tournament." I am wondering if forcing teams 11-22 to play an extra play-in game, and then having them play their round of 16 game an hour or so later is really an "equal chance"? The easiest remedy for this would have been to push back the round of 16 games until after lunch to allow teams that played early games a proper recovery period. I'll concede that the higher seeded teams have earned a bye, but a little rest seems fair for the teams in the teens. Also, I think the strict rules about camping are a small price to pay for using a fabulous facility with easy access by all modes of transport. And the rules make sense if you run a University sports ground. Overall, a first-class tournament. Congrats, Andy and the rest of the organizers! Matt D.
