As I feel there were more issues than just the lack of toilet facilities on 
Friday night that Alex refers to below i have listed a couple of additional 
problems here some of which have already been mentioned. I am not looking to 
complain or seeking a responce, I just want to raise awareness of the issues so 
that they hopefully can be taken into consideration and avoided at future tours 
/ tournaments.
   
  Firstly however i would like to agree with Alex that Eastbourne is an 
excellent venue and that the tournament was overall run very well and that the 
problems listed below did not stop me enjoying the weekend as a whole.
   
  Issue 1: Pitches 16-20
  These pitches were fine playing wise and although a good 5-10 minute walk 
from the main venue this was quite acceptable. However for teams starting on 
these pitches at 9am on Saturday to only learn of their location and the time 
it would take to get to them at the captains meeting which started at 8.30am 
leaves them very little time to get there get there, booted and warmed up in 
time for there first game.
  Also because of the breakdown of the water vehicle no water was provided for 
these pitches for the last game on Sunday, that's 5 pitches, 10 teams with out 
water. Were teams expected to send someone on the 20+ minute round trip to fill 
them up. I realise the organisers had to change their plans due to the 
breakdown of the vehicle but surely the pitches furthest away should then 
become the priority as water containers on pitches nearer the water supply can 
be easily be refilled by players from teams using them.
   
  Issue 2: Pitch 15
  How wide was pitch 15?  If the venue (good as it is) can't cope with that 
many pitches then please can tournament organisers start rejecting teams if too 
many apply, not try to squeeze pitches in spaces that aren't really there. A 
close inspection of the area before the event should surely have told the 
tournament organiser's that although the area looks big enough there isn't 
really the room to put the pitch, due to obsitcles not so obvious when looking 
at the area further away.
   
  Finally,
   
  B-tour Crossovers on Saturday.
  Although I wasn't at it i have been told that very little was said about the 
schedule and rules at the captains meeting, and particularly the need for 
crossovers for the losers of each group in the B-tour. Although the online 
schedule has these marked in the colours of the B-tour they were not marked as 
such on the schedule handed out, where they were just ranking positions. 
(alright neither the women's or tour A had more than 16 teams but team likely 
to be in these positions are the newer ones to ultimate and therefore less 
familiar with the scheduling system.) Unfortunately i believe that the lack of 
clarity did lead to a couple of teams not turning up or turning up very late to 
their last game on the Saturday as they didn't realise they had another game to 
play.

People are of course entitled to voice their opinions, but I also am amazed 
at the amount of criticism going around about Eastbourne - which is without 
question the best tournament venue for facilities and the most 
professionally run event. The only point that appears like it might warrant 
looking into is the lack of toilet facilities on friday.

On-site camping - decent showers - informative tannoy announcements - 
breakfast - on-site party - good water replacements (even with the breakdown 
of the vehicle). Well done Nolan et al for once again showing how a 
tournament can and should be run.
