Hmm... Hopefully I won't have to provide the background to every single change, but...
Yes - this is true. The change is driven by: 1. simplify the rules - even look for opportunities to completely remove things! 2. speed up the game If a pull goes straight out of bounds 20 yds up from endzone line the receiving team already gets a great advantage - so why not keep the game moving quickly and start from the sideline. Also - there isn't a "middle line", so this avoids the need for slowing down to work out where the middle is, agree with opponent, check the disc, etc, etc. Alternatively if the pull goes out somewhere in the area around the brick and you want the advantage of the playing from middle of field, then just use brick mark. No advantage lost by going backwards a few metres. Re-start happens more quickly because it happens from a known, marked point on field, etc, etc. I thought this was quite a neat idea > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Graham Jonathan > Sent: 10 June 2008 09:23 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [BD] 2008 rules > > Haven't had a chance to really read them, but one thing that > immediately jumps out is that there is no 'middle' rule if > the pull goes off the pitch without ground contact.
