True to its extent. The truth is that it is LINUS's MINI UNIX (MINIX) which is understood as Linux. As an open system, I have found no advantages of Linux Kernel based systems over BSD. I was in Reliance Infocomm, so I can say that an ISP runs almost all of its critical components on Solaris and FreeBSD based systems like JUNOS. For a networker, BSD is THE thing and Linux just tries to learn and mimic. The real challenge is in FULL migration and that will only evolve with time and space.
