Hello!
I still have no success with stage1_lba. If I install to (fd0), I'm
getting:
grub> install= /boot/grub/stage1 (fd0) /boot/grub/stage2 0x8000 p
grub> install= /boot/grub/stage1_lba (fd0) /boot/grub/stage2 0x8000 p
Bad or corrupt version of stage1/stage2
grub>
I don't get any error messages when I install stage1_lba to (hd0)
However, the computer hangs without any error messages after reboot.
The results are the same on two computers:
1) RedHat 5.2, Intel 440ZX, Quantum 3.2 (/dev/hda)
2) RedHat 6.0, Intel 440BX, Quantum 6.4 (/dev/hda), IBM 8.3 (/dev/hdc)
Nothing happens even when I use the first partition on /dev/hda
stage1 works properly.
