I cannot accept that putting a breath mark on the downbeat should ever be the expected output, especially when that only occurs due to a grace note in another staff (which, from what I understood, doesn't shorten the preceding note but the following one anyways). It's nonsensical to me that this should be considered intended behavior. It's simply non-musical to assume that a breath mark is meant to go after the bar line unless otherwise specified by the engraver.
