Providing a dmesg would be helpful with this kind of question. I also have an X260 and it works fine. Are you using a custom xorg.conf? Mine is below in order to use wsfb(4) which I use with efifb(4). I think by default without an xorg.conf, you would end up using the vesa(4) driver. Section "Device" Identifier "default device" Driver "wsfb" EndSection Also, does /var/log/Xorg.0.log provide any information? Presumably you are also using UEFI booting so you can use efifb(4)? This would also be apparent with a dmesg. I have had a couple of times where the system has had a hard freeze but that has only happened a couple of times in almost a year and happened when I had multiple I/O intensive operations in progress but that has not happened in a very long time.
