Does the hotspot sources have a ATL/MFC dependence?

Unfortunately, no, there is no way to get to ATL and/or MFC without buying VS Std/Pro/etc. (of course, you can get those through your MSDN subscription, etc.)

For the future, though, the plan is to ship both ATL and MFC (x86, I believe) in VC++ Express at some point.

Can you tell me (or put me in touch with somebody who can) if it’s possible to get a hold of the ATL and/or MFC headers and libraries without buying Visual Studio Standard/Professional/Enterprise/etc? I have a client who’s looking to see if they can use just VC++ Express to maintain some code that uses ATL and MFC.
