*As the trustee for the 444.300 repeater, I try to limit those recordings going out over the air. The person playing them typically starts up around 10:30 PM and goes until about 7 AM, and is located in southern California. Most kids are in bed by then, but there is a local copycat now, KC5RJL, that is also playing the same recording sometimes. You have to understand that by the time anyone can humanly react that the recording is over with, so the only other alternative is to turn the repeater off, which I do most nights when I go to bed. The station in SoCal is using the Santiago Peak repeater, which has a footprint of several thousand square miles, so it's literally like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but there are folks out driving around looking.

I???ve had to abandon the WIN System because there???s someone who broadcasts a pre-recorded ???F*** YOU??? at regular enough intervals that I just can???t have the kids around for it.?? I???d love to see him/her/they kicked in whatever proverbial junk they may or may not have (offending source is likely in CA, trying to be PC and not have my house burned down by peaceful protesters).
