That is why when I lived in Houston I used one provider for tv and another for 
data.  When you use only one provider, most of your bandwidth goes to data and 
tv gets what is left.  Because the tv is highly compressed the picture always 
looked terrible with one provider. When I split services I got gorgeous tv and 
no issues with my data.

I have had issues with my remotes for about three months. have swapped out 
EVERYTHING at both ends but the problem still persists. So, I am convinced that 
the quality of the Internet service is the culprit. My CW has been getting 
corrupted when I use N1MM to send CW to my ranch rig. I can listen in on my 
home rig on what is being transmitted. However, when Chris, N8AI, connects to 
it, he has no problems. He can ragchew either with a paddle or a CW engine and 
no dropouts. 

About a year ago, Chris, N8AI, was getting into data drops with his Xfinity 
service. When you run speedtest, the service is in excess of 50 mbps. But, he 
was still getting problems. One problem was data drops.It was fixed by  running 
a direct cable to the router rather than going with wifi connection. The second 
problem may have been related to certain settings in the Xfinity routers that 
channel more speed to streaming video than to standard data use like we need 
for our rigs. I believe that someone at the top engineering level must have put 
Chris's connection at a higher priority to get away from data drops. 

I used to run my remote station with less than 1 Mbs data rates. Now, even with 
15 Mbs, I have data being corrupted. Instead of sending K0NM, I have heard 
K9MT, K0MT, etc. I have reached the point where I am totally frustrated. So, if 
anyone comes up with an answer, please let me know.
