thanks Lee ..
the groups IO seems to be working well ..
Seems like a few folks are using it..  It may eventually replace the reflector
(up to the users)  but I doubt the reflector is going anywhere. there wont be a
SWITCH..
It is part of our web hosting package..We are currently using Two reflectors,
one for everyone and one just for the members of the board to exchange ideas..
Having both wont hurt anything..

The Groups.io site is still paid for and running.. After I am installed as a
BOD member next month, I will (once again, since my written motion 4 months ago
seems to have gone by the wayside, after suggesting it in March, 2025) make a
motion to switch from the existing reflector to groups.io, which is paid for
the next 2 years as my donation to the club.

Subject: Re: [BVARC] Reflector membership I was going to suggest the groups.io
thing.  We moved the Katy group from the mailman reflector to groups.io earlier
this year.  The BVARC and KARS web sites are hosted with the same provider. A
cpanel upgrade earlier this year broke mailman (the software used for teh email
reflector) some lists are more effected than others.  Currently on the BVARC
reflector users can't subscribe or unsubscribe, at least it is still passing
mail.  The KARS list stopped completely for awhile.

I do not know about the current reflector that Eddie administers, but groups.io
certainly does.

If the club approves its use, and gives me the email addresses of the
membership, I can send out a mass-invite, then we see who responds or bounces.

Lee,

Does the platform know how many bounced email addresses it encounters? That
would be a great way to cull a good portion of them if it did. Probably not an
interested party if the email bounces.

Yes, perhaps.. How many are dead, non-members, no longer in Texas, etc…

Extra above 500 is 4 cents per member per month.
