Sorry guys....been a bit busy at the shop, being full on Christmas Shopping
time.  My wife , daughter and SIL own three Kilwins Ice Cream and Chocolate
franchise stores. One in Sugarland Town Square, one in La Centerra center and
the other at Katy Mills Mall. My wife and I run the Katy Mall store. Kilwins
makes it's own Ice Cream and chocolate and we make a lot of things in the
stores, such as caramel apples of all types, Fudge, Corns, and brittles.  We
have been in the Katy area since the Eighties and raised our kids here. But we
both grew up in Wharton Cty. I have been an Electronics Test, Quality, or
Product Quality Engineer most of my 35+ career but after some events, decided
to give this a try.... for "fun".  Drop by and ask for Don, at the Katy Mills
location. I am here some part of most days, but trying to get myself fired so I
can spend more time on the air.
Getting back into Ham and learning a bunch and more to learn. I have a new
mobile rig to setup and install in my truck and a new Icom 7300 MK2 coming ,
maybe by next month. I have been playing with FT8 a bit on the zBitX I bought
at the CRHRC Fest.

a ATX chassis and install a Linux version (Xubuntu or Mint) and load up as a
Ham Shack computer.  Just the perfect place for those old boards that will not

The ESP32 projects have slid down the list since the Ham license cleared.  But
at least  I have a list. 😜
We have an Ice Cream and Chocolate store and now thru early January is “all

the CRHRC Hamfest.
Also have the little QRZ HT, UV-5RM pro and a DM-32 Pro.  Looking to learn more
about Allstar, DMR, and other digital modes.
I picked up two older working  Kenwood TM-7A’s at the Hamfest, along with a
zBitx for HF learning.  I plan to use the Kenwood unit as a VHF/UHF home base
station and backup.
The zBitx has been …. Interesting. Been mostly monitoring and learning about
FT8 but need to move it and setup a proper antenna.  Just temporary run indoor
EFHW upstairs for listening.  Need to move it outdoors, for sure, and out from
under the tin foil hat that is my roofing deck material.  😢.  I plan to
purchase a new ICOM 7300 Mk2 (so far my fav),  at some point.
The new mobile for my truck is a Radioditty DG50-B VHF/UHF and will allow APRS.
It has a small footprint. It arrived yesterday I am just beginning to learn to
program it. So very much in the learning mode with this one.
I have several other smaller build projects underway, as well.  Old engineer

Thanks for the catch!
By the way, CHIRP is a good solution for managing repeater lists. I have the
same set of repeater details shared across two HTs and a Retevis mobile! Very
handy.
What gear are you using?

You can certainly hear it from Katy, and easily hit it with a 5W HT (...or
maybe not, with the stub antenna it probably came with).

the groups IO seems to be working well ..
Seems like a few folks are using it..  It may eventually replace the reflector
(up to the users)  but I doubt the reflector is going anywhere. there wont be a
SWITCH..
It is part of our web hosting package..We are currently using Two reflectors,
one for everyone and one just for the members of the board to exchange ideas..
Having both wont hurt anything..

thing.  We moved the Katy group from the mailman reflector to groups.io earlier
this year.  The BVARC and KARS web sites are hosted with the same provider. A
cpanel upgrade earlier this year broke mailman (the software used for teh email
reflector) some lists are more effected than others.  Currently on the BVARC
reflector users can't subscribe or unsubscribe, at least it is still passing
mail.  The KARS list stopped completely for awhile.

Lee,

Does the platform know how many bounced email addresses it encounters? That
would be a great way to cull a good portion of them if it did. Probably not an
interested party if the email bounces.
