I am a rather new member and new General Ham. I joined the group.io BVARC
group last night. Seems to be up and running well. Look forward to getting to
know the members more thru this site, as my meeting attendance times are
limited due to work schedule.
Long time Katy resident. Will be getting my mobile radio installed sion and
less time using the HT’s. This should help my on air time. 😉
What is the best VHf/UHF freq/repeaters to monitor for BVAR club contacts?
Have been on the CRHRC links some. But would like to monitor club contacts more.

thanks Lee ..

the groups IO seems to be working well ..

Seems like a few folks are using it..
It may eventually replace the reflector (up to the users) but I
doubt the reflector is going anywhere. there wont be a SWITCH..

It is part of our web hosting package..
We are currently using Two reflectors, one for everyone and one just for the
members of the board to exchange ideas..

Having both wont hurt anything..

The Groups.io site is still paid for and running.. After I am installed as a

seems to have gone by the wayside, after suggesting it in March, 2025) make a
motion to switch from the existing reflector to groups.io, which is paid for
the next 2 years as my donation to the club.

I was going to suggest the groups.io thing. We moved the Katy group from the
mailman reflector to groups.io earlier this year. The BVARC and KARS web sites
are hosted with the same provider. A cpanel upgrade earlier this year broke
mailman (the software used for teh email reflector) some lists are more
effected than others. Currently on the BVARC reflector users can't subscribe
or unsubscribe, at least it is still passing mail. The KARS list stopped
completely for awhile.

If the club approves its use, and gives me the email addresses of the
membership, I can send out a mass-invite, then we see who responds or bounces.

Lee,

Does the platform know how many bounced email addresses it encounters? That
would be a great way to cull a good portion of them if it did. Probably not an
interested party if the email bounces.
