Asterisk machine runs CentOS. I could also set up iptables to refuse/ ignore all packets that aren't from the local network. If I admin it remotely I use SSH tunnels (I think we all do for remote access to the shop, no?) so there would be no impact there.

Impact on ByteWorks: 1) Ubuntu infrastructure machines: for the mini-server, shop server, and samba fileserver this is probably a non-issue as it's a local exploit (i.e. has to be an inside job). As soon as the updated kernel comes out, the machines will be automatically updated. 2) Asterix machine (PBX phone system): don't know. Dan? 3) Ubuntu portion of classroom machines: whenever someone has a chance, the machines should be booted into Ubuntu, updated, and rebooted. 4) Debian portion of classroom machines: update, modify grub menu.lst manually on Ubuntu partition, reboot to test. In short, this is something we need to address soon, but it's not a emergency. Regards, - Robert Yahoo! Groups Links
