Harold, 0.0.5 cleanly installs on 10.5.2 as per the wiki. You need to make sure every old library/artifact from previous installs are removed. There are problems with MacPorts loaded libraries and the current CW/ SpanDSP load so build everything from scratch.
Good luck. As a comment, 1.2.0.1 and associated software (SpanDSP etc.) has been the cleanest load ever on OS X, and everything cleanly installs and works. Hopefully you will have better luck with a clean, start from scratch install.
