Again thank you for following this list and for your work.
I had no success with the 0.0.5pre4 either

I had to put a copy of
tiffvers.h
tiffio.h
tiffconf.h
tiff.h
in /usr/include to pass the "make" process

but my sytem is a complete mess now with so many try. I have to 
reformat and reconfigure my server before I can make  a clean install 
again
I don't know if this workaround may cause other problems.
