The Prince is told: " According to what the Vietnamese side told our ambassador in Hanoi, the armistice in Vietnam does not cover Cambodia and Laos. This was Point 7 in the original nine-point agreement. This point was not included in the previous drafts, and is added this time. If this is true, the agreement is better than the previous one. This means that other countries cannot interfere with the affairs of the three countries." PM and Defense Minister alias Brother 89 or Khieu). Plans, helicopters and cannons are used. Ships carried red flags with pictures of Angkor Wat temple and white flags are shot at by people on Tral Island. Jan. 7, 1979 Vietnamese and KUFNS troops capture Phnom Penh, ending the murderous regime of Pol Pot in which more than one million Cambodians perished. Jan. 8, 1979 The Kampuchean People's Revolutionary Council (KPRC), head by Heng Samrin was set up as a provisional govt. to run the country. Calls on Vietnam to withdraw its forces from Cambodia and deny haven to the Khmer Rouge. Declare that the U.S. and the international community should use all means available to prevent a return to power of Pol Pot. The "HOW" can be worked out among those who have guts to set aside their egotism by putting the country's interests first. I have always supported and will continue to support the unity among all opposition forces. The hardest part is to find a workable formula for such a unity that is acceptable for all "leaders". I was hoping that HRP could win more seats so it could help balance things out after the election. We tried our best to unite with other parties before the election, but we failed. We also did our best to bring our messages to the people asking for their vote during our campaign in July 2008... but the people could not exercise their rights freely. Some two million Cambodian voters could not vote; nevertheless, our messages have been heard throughout the nation. >From my personal involvement and experience during the past electoral process; >if there is no change in electoral system, no unity among the oppositions, the >CPP will always "win" regardless. Sam Rainsy, Kem Sokha and Pen Sovann and among others smaller parties should stop express themselves as “If I don’t lead who’s going to lead “and/or “follow my lead, because I am a top notch politicians.”…this is why they are failing all the elections, and because they do not show their unity to the majority of the Cambodian voters. Remember that in 1993, 1998 and 2003 the oppositions were winning the majority of the Cambodian votes, but the CPP were leading the country. Why? Because too many Chiefs without Indians. I should add to that also, egoism plays majority of the problems.
