Fighting a war must only be a last resort. Obtaining independence from the French through peaceful mean like Sihanouk had done was better than killing each other like Ho Chi Minh/Nguyen Van Giap had done. Unlike Vietnam that obtained its independence from France with bloodshed, Cambodia did not shed a single drop of blood. That was the genius of Norodom Sihanouk.
