I tried that stuff at first and the etched surface was very uneven and not at acceptable.  I tried to water the stuff down a bit and still ran into the same problem.  I also tried to spread the stuff onto one surface and then place the ground glass-to-be into the mixture for a more even coating and I still had an unevenly etched surface.  No joy at all with that stuff.   Dan Rhoades www.rhoadescameras.bizland.com ----- Original Message ----- From: James Darcy Sent: Friday, March 16, 2001 2:18 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Cameramakers] Ground glass This note is for the earlier question about ground glass and producing an acceptable surface. There is a product used to etch patterns on glass sold at most arts/craft stores and I've seen it at Wal-Mart. I think it's called Armour-Etch and know that it wouldn't cost much and very little work! I've seen the surface that it makes and it's  fine and smooth though I've not tried it to see how well it would produce an image in the camera.
