Well, my hypothesis is shot then ;). The good news is that Camino is working again! I have deleted all copies of Camino, trashed Camino preferences, and everything is back. I don't know what the problem is. I still feel that it had to do with having more than one copy of Camino but I don't have any evidence to support that.

That's a harmless warning that everyone gets, actually, and has nothing to do with having multiple copies of Camino.
