Seeing any .dmg show up as garbage text annoys me. :-/
Can Camino use LSCopyApplicationURLsForUrl: for something like this?
"Hey, this URL is a .dmg - Is Disk Utility set to handle this kind of
file? Yes? Okay, save it instead of rendering garbage."
Smack me if I'm up the wrong tree. :-)

Might it be possible to ask the user, "hey, this is a large [file
size] file, are you sure you want to display it in the browser
versus transferring it to the Downloads window"? It would appear
that the instances of people really wanting to viewing large text
or html files dwarfs the number of people who just want it saved
somewhere.
That is the approach that's been suggested in bug 306380: <https://
bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306380>
Of course, you should also contact the webmasters/sysadmins of the
problematic sites and tell them to fix the content-type (MIME type)
they're sending for .dmg files :-)
