Two cents from my side:

1. Enable "spring loaded" tabs: When dragging a URL or plain text on a tab and wait for a second the tab contents are shown and the drag operation can be continued. If the tab shows the bookmarks the dragged URL can be added as a bookmark to a certain location, on other pages the dragged text can be inserted into text field (Hey, I didn't know that this is now possible - a few months ago it didn't work :-).

2. To use the above described feature to add new bookmarks it might be an idea to add a permanent bookmark icon to the left side of the tab bar although this might be against the idea to show bookmarks in arbitrary tabs.
