Great points. Fortunately there may be a simple answer that can do both
that already is implemented in Camino - make it work like the back and
forward buttons - click to scroll the tabs or click and hold to see a
popup menu of ALL the tabs.

That's why I'd like at least an option for a wrapping tab bar (like
the bookmark bar). A scrolling bar would actually be a step backwards
from the drop-down, in terms of rapid visual access.
