My concerns is that we're associating things like thumbnails and tags
with *files*, not with the underlying "image". I get that it's a fine
hair to split, but I think it is legimitately important to make the
concept of an object that is media in of itself a first-class concept
that we build files on top of rather than retrofitting tagging to
files after the fact.
