Like most all things in life, there are pros and cons for every
decision.  I have lived and sailed in South Florida for over 30
years.  The intensity of the winter sun UV is low, compared to the
summer. While the winter sun can still give a yankee a sunburn....
it anit nothing compared to summer...

Full Covers:  I have one on my Hobie 16, does a great job... but a
everytime, anytime I want to do anything (maintenance) on the boat,
I must remove the cover.  With a full cover, if you need to access
the cabin, it is painfull to remove.. even partially.

Blue Plastic:  You get what you pay for...will catch the wind, rip,
hard to put on and take off...ugh

I chose a canopy, 10 x 24 for my mast down Corsair 24. It has extra
high legs (about 10 ft), so the boat/mast and trailer will fit
under.  While the sides are exposed to UV in the evening and
mornings, the UV strength is very low at that time.  It also
provides a nice place to work on the boat.

If your trip to sunny South Florida (where we get to sail 12 months
of the year) is a one time occurance, forget the cover, the suns UV
are tame in Dec - April.  If you plan on doing this annually, I
would suggest any cover that is easy for you to use.  If it is hard
to use, you will either not use it, or rarely get access to the boat
and cabin...

Enjoy
