I do option 2 with a blue tarp and bungees and it keeps the nets in
good shape by keeping ultraviolet off them. Beware using the grey
tarp with black backing avail at West and Home Depot. Gets any
surface it is in contact with very hot under the midday sun. Blue or
white tarps not as bad in this regard. You can get a seperate plastic
tarp to cover the front nets by draping it across front of boat and
bungee it down. I actually put a boom substitute on the front of mine
using a long piece of 3" pvc pipe. This creates a tent effect such as
the boom does for the back. Pipe lays on bow rail and is tied to
front of mast opposite the gooseneck with tarp drapped over top of
pipe and down over sides of boat. All this stuff takes a while to put
on at the end of the day, but it is better than letting the Atlanta
sun bake it all week in our long hot summers.
