Date - 4 June 06
Day - Sunday
Start - Rock of Gibraltar Enslow
End - Heyford Common

Last night we ate in the Rock of Gibraltar, Three of us had fillet steak
which was so tender you could cut it with a spoon and we had a peaceful
night on their moorings, I'm not sure what it would be like on a week
day as there is a haulage yard on the tow path side with 23 trucks in
the yard. I would guess that they would be on the move well before 9 am.
Although it was sunny today it was nowhere near as hot as yesterday and
we had a short shower around 4 pm.. We must have met around 30 boats
today including a day boat with a hen party onboard, they were trying to
come down through a lock with all 4 paddles up , it was there second
lock and like the previous one I think they had met a boat leaving,
unfortunately this boat left the top paddles up and the girls didn't
realise the problem, but no real harm done, it was just as well it was a
busy day. We moored on the common just above Heyford Common Lock and
tried to polish the boat as the paint is very dead, but the rain stopped
play, so I delved into the weed hatch and extracted a load of string,
poly bag remains and about 2 foot of very springy wire.
