Yep, I can confirm that you pay for any of the moorings above the narrows near Llangollen. There is a BW guy there, which takes your money as you arrive, £5 for the night, and the electricity is free - no card, just plug in. There is electric available on both the towpath, and the basin. I assume the BW guy is only there during daylight hours, but I guess they have a wonder around to see if anyone has snuck in over night. You get a nice little ticket to put in your window.
