It was hardly "harsh" although I see that you snipped out the bit about using a wedge, which was an important part of what I was replying to.
If you think that your post has created upset then I would suggest that you keep away from uk.re.waterways where you would find some of the messages posted rather alarming! at present some chap from the Isle of Man is abusing everyone else for daring to be English. Most of what is posted on this list is reasonably polite and includes some good-natured banter, which was what my comment was intended to be. It is indeed a good place to discuss our shared interests and you are very welcome.
